Applications / Solvent Recovery
Recovering toluene, acetone or gasoline vapor? CTC and ignition point matter.

| Scenario | Requirement | Recommended | Key Spec |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic solvent recovery (toluene / acetone / ethyl acetate) | Large capacity, regenerable | Extruded recovery carbon | CTC 30–120% |
| Gasoline-vapor recovery (VRU) | High-temperature, safe | High ignition-point extruded carbon | Ignition ≥350°C |
| Printing / coating off-gas | Low resistance, smooth flow | 0.9–8mm extruded carbon | Diameter by duty |
Filled in fixed-bed adsorbers, CTC value determines adsorption capacity; 30–120% is graded by solvent type. After saturation, the solvent is recovered by desorption and the carbon regenerated for reuse.
Gasoline-vapor recovery regenerates at high temperature, so the ignition point must be ≥350°C for safety.
Carbon tetrachloride value — measures organic-solvent adsorption capacity; 30–120% graded by solvent.
Safety threshold for high-temperature regeneration; ≥350°C.
0.9–8mm extruded; determines bed resistance and gas-flow smoothness.
Durability in fixed beds; ≥90%.
| Your Situation | Recommended | Product |
|---|---|---|
| Organic solvent recovery | Solvent recovery carbon (CTC 30–120%) | Solvent Recovery Activated Carbon |
| Gasoline-vapor recovery | Solvent recovery carbon (high ignition ≥350°C) | Solvent Recovery Activated Carbon |
| Printing / coating off-gas | Solvent recovery carbon (extruded 0.9–8mm) | Solvent Recovery Activated Carbon |
| Organic solvent recovery, cost option | Wood pellet carbon (CTC 20–80%) | Wood Based Activated Carbon Pellets |
| High-purity gas-phase duty | Coconut pellet carbon (iodine ≥900, low ash) | Coconut Shell Activated Carbon Pellets |
Solvent and gasoline-vapour recovery regenerates at high temperature, so the ignition point must be ≥350°C to operate safely under desorption conditions.
CTC 30–120% is graded by solvent type — the more demanding the solvent load, the higher the CTC grade you specify.
Regenerable extruded carbon recovers solvent on desorption and is reused over many cycles; lifetime depends on solvent purity and operating care.
Extruded carbon (0.9–8 mm) gives low bed resistance and smooth gas flow in fixed-bed adsorbers, and its strength survives repeated regeneration.
